After the Tribunale Nazionale announced a four-year football ban, Paul Pogba expressed his disappointment with the decision.
Taking to his Instagram page, Pogba shared that he had been made aware of the ruling and firmly believed it was unjust.
Feeling deeply saddened, surprised, and devastated, Pogba mourned the apparent loss of all he had worked hard to achieve in his football career.
He maintained his innocence, vehemently denying any involvement or knowledge of using prohibited supplements that violated anti-doping rules.
Stressing his dedication to fair play and honesty, Pogba affirmed that as a professional athlete, he would never resort to using banned substances to enhance his performance.
He adamantly refuted claims of disrespecting or cheating fellow athletes and fans of any team he played for.
Pogba also announced his intention to appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in pursuit of justice.
He expressed confidence that once he was free of legal restrictions, the full story would come to light, vindicating his stance on the matter.
In his words:
“I have today been informed of the Tribunale Nazionale Antidoping’s decision and believe that the verdict is incorrect.
I am sad, shocked and heartbroken that everything I have built in my professional playing career has been taken away from me.
When I am free of legal restrictions the full story will become clear, but I have never knowingly or deliberately taken any supplements that violate anti-doping regulations.
As a professional athlete I would never do anything to enhance my performance by using banned substances and have never disrespected or cheated fellow athletes and supporters of any of the teams I have played for, or against.
As a consequence of the decision announced today I will appeal this before the Court of Arbitration for Sport.”
